Fairlie People

Paul Spooner, who joined Fairlie in 2000 after a period working as an in-house Naval Architect for the sail training ship ‘Tenacious’, has recently been appointed to the Fairlie Board of Directors.

Paul adds “the burgeoning yacht design work here at Fairlie has created the need for more capacity in this area. With this in mind we have added Tom de la Haye in the role of Junior Draughtsman. Tom is a recent graduate of Southampton Solent University and joined us in September adding new skills and ideas to the team working on outside design projects”.

News from ‘in-the-shed’ includes a new face, Helen Kirkham who joined Fairlie in July as a mature Apprentice. Although Helen had already spent some considerable time in the industry, she made a conscious career decision to gain some formal yacht building qualifications and where better than Fairlie Restorations!
