'Lucky Girl' launched

After a full structural restoration which started last August ‘Lucky Girl’ was launched earlier this month. Once rigged by Peter Martin of Martins Rigging Ltd. and the Ratsey and Lapthorn sails bend on the yacht was taken out for sea trials.

The racing pedigree of this 1909 8m yacht was shown with everybody onboard impressed by the yacht’s performance under sail!

After successful sea trials ‘Lucky Girl’ was de-rigged and loaded onto a lorry to take her to Largs, Scotland in preparation for the Fife Regatta 2008. The owner and Fairlie’s staff are keenly awaiting to see how the yacht compares against other 8m yachts racing in the regatta.

Watch this space for more photos of the yacht under sail!
