Superyacht UK Tour of Excellence
On 23rd April Fairlie took part in the 2008 Superyacht UK Tour of Excellence. The tour enabled Fairlie to showcase its work to a group of 20 delegates who included project managers, designers, naval architects, owner's representatives, yards, brokers and captains.
The tour of Fairlie’s shipyard was in two parts. Firstly delegates were given a short presentation by Paul Spooner who gave the delegates details of Fairlie’s past projects and information about the services offered by the company. Paul also was promoting his 18, 23 and 28m new build cruising yacht designs.
Meanwhile in the shipyard delegates were shown ‘Lucky Girl’ a 1909 Fife 8m which is nearing the end of a full restoration and ‘Niebla’ the 18m new build cruising yacht built at Fairlie in 2005. In the joiners shop deck structures currently being built for a large European project were on display.
The event enabled Fairlie to promote itself to the Superyacht market which it is becoming increasingly involved in. The Tour of Excellence continued the next day where delegates visited yards in the South West.
