Two Motor Yacht design concepts from Fairlie

Breaking from Fairlie's traditional line of work the design office have launched two motor yacht design concepts.

The first is a 22m Motor Yacht, designed by Paul Spooner and optimised for faster cruising. The second is a 20m Fife Motor Yacht and is based on 'Clio' a yacht designed and built in Fairlie, Scotland by William Fife and Sons in 1910.

The semi-displacement hull of Paul Spooner’s motor yacht means that she is easily capable of 20 knots allowing for faster passage making and the more contemporary hull lines are sure to turn heads in any marina or anchorage.

Owning a motor yacht such the 20m Fife Motor yacht however is not about the speed, it is about the journey, comfort and elegance, a cruising speed of 10 knots gives this motor yacht a relaxed feel and means that she is capable of extended offshore cruising.

These new yachts will be built using modern laminated timber construction in order to give considerably reduced maintenance but still maintaining the feel and ambience of a classic wooden yacht.

To ensure the comfort and safety of today's yachtsman both of these motor yachts will be fitted with state of the art engineering and stabilizing systems and are designed for extended cruising, coastal and island hopping.

These motor yachts will be built by the same craftsmen that have restored the famous classics at the Fairlie Restorations Yard in England, and will be built with the same compulsion to perfection and detailing as a Gentleman's motoryacht from the turn of the century.
